Terms Of Service

Exco members will serve for three (3) years, after which an election will be conducted for new people to take over.

Election

Two (2) officials will be from the USA and two (2) from Europe.

Yearly Dues

Every member will pay a yearly due of twenty-five dollars ($25). This will be reviewed every year.

One group register will be maintained. This will hold the details of Ire indigienes that join the organisation, including our wives with dates.

Invitations to weddings, graduations, and funerals will be sent out either to a group or to individuals. However, there will be no group contributions or monetary gifts. Instead, individuals can present their own personal gifts or tokens to the concerned person. This policy will be reviewed in the future.

Funding Of Projects

Members that leave the group

A member shall be deemed to have left the organisation when he/she stops attending meetings for a good number of times, stops paying the yearly due and without contact either by email, message or phone call to the coordinators to explain his absence. It should be noted that anyone who leaves the Group should still be contacted to pay his/her dues if he/she so wishes. However, payment and membership is optional; hence, the onus lies on all indigenes to decide whether to join the organisation or not. No Ire village indigene will be forced to join but everyone will be made aware of the importance of belonging to the Group.

Group Account

Two accounts will be opened, one in Europe and the second in America. Our brother Chizoba Okoye (Baba-Oko) was nominated to collect dues paid by members in the USA and to open an account and deposit the money into the USA account. Members may be able to pay directly into the account when it is opened. The PR/Membership Coordinator, Engr. Chris Mbonu (Tabugbo), was also nominated to do the same for the Europe account. This means that Chizoba Okoye (Baba-Oko) will be collecting levies in the USA, while Engr. Chris Mbonu (Tabugbo) will be collecting levies in Europe when we commence our group projects. As we progress, one account will be maintained later, when the website is launched, as members will start making online payments and will have the option of paying in Naira as most projects will be happening back home.

tiebreaker criteria during Election

Decisions at meetings shall be by vote, by a majority of members that are present at the time. Every member shall have one vote. In a situation where there is a tie during a vote, Coordinators will cast a ballot This is because the group has four (4) co-ordinators and four (4) is an even number, hence voting to break a tie will definitely not be possible considering the vote may end up as a draw (2 -2), which means that the purpose of the vote will not be achieved. Casting a ballot will make it possible for the tie to be broken.

Timing of contributions during discussions

All members shall be given the opportunity to air their views during the meeting. In order to ensure that everyone is given the opportunity to speak, we will make use of 'TIMER' to time discussions. One (1) minute will be given to anyone on the floor. Nat Akaelue will manage the timer.
